Vets Championship Conditions

Match Play

Prerequisite
This event is open to all registered and current financial members of Murwillumbah Veteran Golfers, who have recorded no less than 8 GA recognised competitions in twill be used to break ties.
To compete in the Match Play Championship, players must be available on the day of the qualifying as well as each of the dates set aside for the 4 rounds of competition.

Players nominate themselves on the list placed on the Vets notice board to participate.
Nominated players compete for qualification as part of the Monthly Medal Competition. The top 16
nominated players on that day will make up the Match Play field. Traditional countback rules will be used to break ties.


 Seedings for the draw will be determined by the qualifying round results.
 Players handicap in the qualifying round will be their handicap for the duration of the championship.
 Scores for match play rounds will not be submitted to GA for handicapping purposes.
 All rounds of the championship will be played from the white tees.
 Tee times will be prebooked for each pair, between 7:45am and 8:15am, for all rounds of the championship.
 A player who, for unforeseen circumstances, is unavailable to play on a date specified may negotiate with his/her playing partner to arrange an alternate date PRIOR to the schedule date of the following round. However, if an alternate date cannot be arranged, the player available on the appointed day will progress.
 Players competing in the Match Play Championship will not be participating in that day’s scheduled Vet’s competition.
 In the event of a draw at the end of 18 holes of any match players can mutually decide how to resolve the draw. Extra holes, nearest the pin, nearest the pin on the putting green, flip a coin etc. are acceptable methods. If the two players cannot agree, extra holes must be completed until a winner is decided.
 At the end of the match, it is the winner’s responsibility to notify Barry Cowell, John Belshaw, Denis O’Keefe or Ian Yarroll of the result.
 Results and the updated draw will be made available on the Vet’s noticeboard, and as part of the weekly Vet’s newsletter.
 These Conditions of Play are to be read and interpreted in conjunction with the Rules of Golf, the local rules and general conditions of play of Murwillumbah Golf Club.
 The Veterans Match Committee will authorise variations to the dates and playing conditions of the Match Play, if necessary, as a result of weather events or other unforeseen circumstances causing course closure orabandonment of play.

Championships

Prerequisite

This event is open to all registered and current financial members of Murwillumbah Veteran Golfers, who have recorded no less than 8 GA recognised competitions in the 12 months preceding the starting round of the championships.


 Play is from the white tees for men and red tees for women, as set out on the day.
 This is a 36-hole stroke competition, played over two days.
 The club champion for each division is the player with the lowest gross aggregate score adjusted to par. This adjustment is necessary to accommodate the different pars of the men’s and women’s courses.
 If after 36 holes there is a tie, those tied players in each division will be joint champions.
 The division in which each player competes will be determined on the date of commencement of the first scheduled round of the Championships. Players will remain in the same division for the duration of the championships.
 Players will use their official daily Golf Australia handicap for each of the two rounds of the Championships and will include any adjustments, either up or down, incurred between rounds one and two.
 Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up in all divisions for both gross and net competitions. There will not be countbacks, ties will share prizes equally. These prizes will be presented at the Christmas Party/Presentation.
 There will be a daily net stroke competition for each round of the championship, with prizes for each division.
