Our tenth Week Of Golf of Veterans’ Golf has concluded with all participants enjoying the beautiful Course, breath-taking scenery all around, the camaraderie and the golfing challenges that this Course can present – but judging by the scores returned, some of the visitors certainly got a handle on it.
Sunday was Registration Day between 1.00 and 4.00pm. Participants received their Welcome Pack which included our Registration Newsletter, local information and vouchers, Name Tag with daily playing times on it and a pen. Nibbles were brought out from the Kitchen at 2.00 and 3.00pm. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to renew acquaintances or meet new people. There wer many new faces this year with multiple entries from a number of Clubs where past participants have gone back home and encouraged fellow veterans to attend.
Participants came from Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, from 64 different Clubs. There were 227 entries received with 61.9% men and 38.1% ladies. There were in total 30 withdrawals over the period of nominating and during the event, which necessitated the playing draw to be arranged. This was managed successfully.
The Course was prepared and presented in excellent condition by our Green Staff who were actually two staff down for most of the week. They were out before daylight mowing the Greens, setting the Pins and Tees and raking all bunkers.
The weather was really kind to us for the Tournament
