Results Murwillumbah Week Of Golf

A very successful Week Of Golf has just completed at Murwillumbah Golf Course.

In total there were 223 entries in total over the 4 days, with 23 players withdrawing before the event either because of ill health, unforeseen family commitments or injuries sustained whilst on tour.

The weather was great the first two days, but Wednesday Night the heavens opened up and drenched the Course. Although the rain stopped at the Golf Course, the surrounding areas where participants were staying continued to have torrential rain most of the day. It was so heavy at Tweed and on the Coastal Areas that many golfers had to withdraw as they couldn’t drive in safe conditions. All Bunkers were made GUR for the day and preferred lies (Through the Green) became Local Rules. Friday saw better conditions, with the Bunkers put back in Play (although eight of the 42 Bunkers had GUR signs placed in them). The Preferred Lies remained a Local Rule.

On Tuesday Night, following the day’s competition, a small presentation was held, with nibbles being served, for Monday’s 4BBB Event. As there were more Mixed Pairings than Men’s Pairings, prizes went to Fifth Place in the Mixed Event and Two Places in the Men’s Pairing

Presentation for the rest of the week was made at Friday Night’s Dinner where 54 different participants received prizes for their achievements throughout the Tournament. The distribution of Prizes followed NSWVGA Policy 2 Guidelines.

We are now in preparation for next year’s Week Of Golf which will be held 31 July to 4 August 2017. Entry Forms will appear shortly on our Website.

We hope to see many returnees, and their friends, once again up here in Murwillumbah.
